As a Positive Behaviour Support school (PBS) students are rewarded for following the schools expected behaviours seen below:
These behaviours are explicitly taught throughout the school. Students are encouraged to always try their best, show respect and act safely in all areas of the school and in the community. Your child will receive acknowledgement of following the schools expected behaviours through the school reward systems which include tickets, certificates, Aussie of the month and special activities on PBS Fridays.
The school has a Student Leadership Team that comprises of 6-8 students from the Middle Years and Senior Units. The students can be nominated by others or self nominate. There is then a voting process and from that the top 6-8 students form the leadership team. There is then another vote for students from the Senior Unit that have been voted in to be elected School Captain. We have two school captains.
The Student Leadership team meet fortnightly. An example of the kind of thing that the Leadership team might undertake include assisting with the presentation of certificates at Aussie of the Month, organising special school event days such as pyjama day, showing visitors around the school. The term of office is for one year.
